The Rawlin at Riverbend Memory Care, located in Springfield, OR is seeking a professional, reliable Interim Maintenance Director to support our community’s maintenance operations during a temporary leadership need. This role ensures the safety, functionality, and smooth daily operation of our building and grounds.

Maintenance Director (INTERIM) "Physical Plant Director"

Responsibilities of the Interim Physical Plant Director

  • Provide steady leadership and communicate professionally with employees, residents, families, and outside partners.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day maintenance and operational needs of a 24/7 senior living community.
  • Manage the proper operation of all equipment, mechanical systems, and grounds.
  • Implement and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor property grounds to ensure safety and wellbeing for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Oversee the housekeeping department.
  • Assist with staff scheduling, supply purchasing, and budget support.
  • Coordinate and document Safety Committee meetings.
  • Plan and schedule maintenance projects, including cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain contracted services for elevators, HVAC, hot water systems, landscaping, and other facility operations.
  • Ensure residents are treated with privacy, respect, and dignity.
  • Follow standard precautions and infection control procedures.
  • Complete state‑required training upon hire and annually.
  • Participate in new employee orientation and monthly in‑services as needed.

Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of hands‑on experience as a maintenance supervisor in a multi‑residence or similar setting preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills, including routine maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Experience with grounds maintenance and plumbing repair.
  • Knowledge of fire and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work with and oversee outside vendors.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the day, including sitting, standing, bending, and lifting.
  • On‑call availability as needed.
